Hardy Passiflora Evaluation (USDA zone 8a)

The following is a record of "hardy" Passifloras I've trialed in my Pacific Northwest, USDA zone 8a climate with wet winters and lots of freeze thaw cycles (as opposed to places that freeze and then stay frozen till spring).

Passiflora incarnata (un-named purple flowered selection) - received as root cutting via ebay seller.  The cutting did produce a vine, but it ultimately failed to thrive and did not overwinter.

Passiflora incarnata (un-named white flowered selection) - received as root cutting via ebay seller.  The cutting did produce a vine, but it ultimately failed to thrive and did not overwinter.

Passiflora incarnata (seedlings grown from Tradewinds Fruit seed) - I successfully grew two seedlings from this seed source, but after a couple years I culled one because it did not match the vigor of the other in bouncing back from the roots each spring.  The seedling which I did keep has finally set fruit in its third year (due to lack of available cross pollinators previously).  Fruit is more round than oblong.

Passiflora incarnata (seedlings grown from seed collected by Peaceful Heritage Nursery from "Superior" wild patches with above average fruit quality) - Four seedlings resulted from this seed batch, but have not yet been able to evaluate fruit set.

Passiflora ((incarnata x edulis var. flavicarpa) x incarnata) x OP - Four seedlings from this complex hybrid seed batch from Taylor Nelson.  This year only two of the four plants flowered, but despite hand pollination from various other passionflowers, no fruit was set.  Will probably cull the two which did not flower, but still debating whether to cull the two which did flower to give another year of growth before concluding if they're sterile or if they just need pollen from the right cross to set...

Passiflora ('Bucky' x incarnata) x OP - Seven seedlings from this complex hybrid seed batch from Taylor Nelson.  All seven seedlings have bloomed, but only five set fruit.  Of the five with fruit two produced very small fruits (not worthwhile), two produced medium fruits and only one produced very good sized fruit (about the size of a duck egg).  Unfortunately only the largest fruit seems to be filled with the other medium and small fruits all being very light and possibly hollow.  Will cull the two with tiny fruit and possibly keep the two which flowered, but did not set fruit in case they just didn't get the right pollen source.  Will also keep the two with medium fruit and the one with large fruit for further evaluation.  Will likely sow seed from the one with large fruit as it may be worth getting a next generation from.

Passiflora caerulea 'Clear Sky' - Unsure if this will ever set fruit with pollen from my other Passifloras, but at the very least it's a flower producing machine.

Passiflora × 'Vivacemente' - Failed to overwinter even with moderate protection in my unheated greenhouse.
